The high summer capsule is inspired by the spanish tradition of sobremesa. Sobremesa translates literally as “over the table”, and refers to the time spent sitting at the table chatting and enjoying each other’s company after lunch or dinner. This is a very common tradition in Spain, and is accentuated during the Summer since the days are longer and the heat is more intense outside of the shade.
The Balearic Islands are a very iconic spanish summer destination, and we’ve wanted to draw inspiration from it’s local fabrics and materials which make for a perfect local sobremesa. If you were to experience one of these sobremesa’s, apart from the everpresent food and drinks, you would come across colourfull shutters, wicker furniture and “tela de lengua” fabrics, an important stamp of the mediterranan lifestyle that defines us as a whole.
